Free mode supports 2 simultaneous shares. When you start a third, TunnelBox shows a dialog: stop one of the existing shares to continue, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited concurrent shares. No data is lost; your share configs are preserved.
On Free, closing the TunnelBox window stops the app and all active shares — TunnelBox is a one-at-a-time demo tool. Pro mode hides to the system tray when you close the window, keeping tunnels alive as long as you like. You can also enable "Launch at startup" for permanent hosting.
No. Pro is a one-time payment of $39. You get lifetime access to the Pro features that exist today, plus one year of updates. There's no recurring charge. If new major Pro features ship after your purchase, access to those is at our discretion — but everything in the table above is yours permanently.
